The destructive power of technology

Yeah...never, NEVER do this if you run for the Prime Minister's post.

To quote my all-time favorite George Orwell: "If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself." Especially, when campaigning.

BAD PR, Brown. Smiles won't help!

  1. Typical blunder for most present-day politicians...
"издержки квази-демократии" so to say ...
I think quote from G. Orwell is very appropriate. I would also suggest another one, the famous ONE to the effect that "some animals are more equal."
I wonder if Plato is on the required reading list in the PD area ...
I have a feeling that that is not the case.
I guess no one who has ever read CAREFULLY Plato would be surprised at "evolution" (or, rather, involution) of political leadership. In case of Britain: Mr. Brown does not even begin to compare to Churchill, even to Margaret Thatcher; the potential of the latter, in its turn, was a far cry from Churchill's, etc., etc.

  2. yeah, i don't even want to imagine where we're all going to be with our political "leadership" in 50 years' time. though, i guess, it's been the feeling since before our era. so isn't it just a "given" human society should live with?
